Sustainability

At MAKSU we are committed to our clients and the environment.  We work with factories where we produce limited quantities of each model to ensure exclusivity and avoid overproduction.  We listen to our clients and we bet on what they really want, to adapt our production to the demand in a responsible way.  Sustainability involves finding a balance between supply and demand, and that can only be achieved by listening.

We believe that fashion should be the result of a sustainable and environmentally friendly process and that change begins with the brands.  Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from our own factory in Turkey to our selection of fabrics, dyeing techniques and packaging materials for our online orders and store sales.  We are also great defenders and promoters of manual and artisanal processes and careful clothing.  75% of MAKSU garments are produced in our own facilities, allowing us to control the entire process.  We also manufacture some of our garments in partner factories where we have first-hand knowledge of all levels of the supply chain, which allows us to guarantee a positive environmental and social impact.

In addition to betting on quality and timelessness in our designs, we are committed to limited editions of our models: we start by manufacturing small quantities of each product and only produce more if we know that the client wants it, based on data and comments.  This makes our production responsible and exclusive.

  

We are committed to driving the industry forward and investing in solutions focused on the future, which is why in 2021 we have created a department dedicated exclusively to sustainability at our headquarters.  We know that corporations have the greatest potential for climate action, which is why we strive to drive progress across the board.

We also want to record and share our progress with the public which is why we have become members of the Higg Index, which will help us control and evaluate the entire process throughout the product life cycle and will help us improve our environmental performance.
